Straight-Up Color Tower (36 Movie Frames of a Virtual World Series, No 7/36)
The work is an imaginary cityscape "painted" as a virtual environment in three dimensions. The process consists in a 3D photo collage of thousands of photo sprites. While building the virtual world, random flows of cars and people in perpetual motion are inserted. Revisiting the virtual environment after engineering its construction allows the artist to experience the kind of thrill photographers regularly experience when they capture a moment while discovering unexpected events.
Straight-Up Color Tower, No. 7 — Compiled together, the colored strokes made a vibrant virtual architecture.
36 Movie Frames of a Virtual World series — This photographic print is part of a 3D real-time art piece and 36 accompanying photos. 36 is a 3D real-time experience representing a 21st c. flow set. The photographic components of the piece were taken in Rotterdam, New York, San Francisco and Paris. The result is both a proposal for an interactive art installation, and a series of photographic prints.
